At Larrakeyah Primary, we want to make sure all our students are supported so they can become excellent readers. Reading is an essential skill that sets our students up for all of their future learning and their life beyond the school gates.

While academic achievements are important to all of us, we know that student wellbeing across all age groups is a growing concern for parents and carers. After the last year of change and uncertainty in particular, strong coping skills, resilience and empathy is more important than ever.

We’re immensely proud of how our school community, our students, and staff have led Larrakeyah Primary from strength to strength – the most recent example of such progress being demonstrated in achieving a “High” to “Outstanding” result in all areas of our 2020 School Review. During the past 3 years Larrakeyah Primary School has moved towards an inquiry-based approach to learning. This has followed on from the introduction of 21st Century Learning and coincided with the introduction of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) into classroom teaching.
