At Larrakeyah Primary School we have a strong focus on the inclusion of Information, Communication and Digital Technologies within the classroom context. Students also have access to weekly Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lessons taught by a specialist ICT teacher.
The recent addition of our extensively resourced ICT room has given our students access to a wide range of digital technologies and programs under the guidance of Mr. Steve Lineham, who brings extensive experience in executing a learning program that blends in Australian and Cambridge curricula. From the age of five, students practice and develop essential skills, such as, keyboard and mouse control, programming and coding skills, and digital awareness.
Within our classrooms, students develop and learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas.
They learn to use technology productively and responsibly.
Information and Communication Technology within the classroom environment at Larrakeyah Primary School includes:
- Interactive whiteboards and SMART televisions
- 1 to 1 access to iPad, laptops and desktops
- Access to apps and online programs.
