About the program
This year we welcome Kathy Fehringer who will be providing music tutoring after school hours. She will be offering piano, violin and guitar lessons to students from Transition to Year 6. Kathy has excellent music qualifications. She has successfully tutored in music locally and interstate.
There are 8 lessons per term with each lesson 30 mins duration. Cost is $300 per term and payment must be received by the school in full for the term prior to the student commencing lessons. A student will not commence the first lesson if payment has not been received and the placement for the term will be given to another student.
Lessons will commence Week 2 Term 2. Lessons will be in the Music Room (Demountable) Room 10.
$300 fees are payable in advance for the term.
Missed Lessons. If the teacher misses a lesson there will be a catch-up lesson.
Student Absences . Catch-up lessons are always available if the absence is due to a public holiday, school excursion or other school event. If due to an illness or some other reason, only one catch-up lesson is allowed per term, providing the school has been informed prior to the absence.
Students are expected to have a violin, guitar, piano or keyboard – or access to one for practice.
A student should not start lessons if he/she is unwilling to commit to practice time.
Violin and guitar students need to bring a violin/guitar to lessons. Violins and guitars can be hired through any music rental online, often with free delivery. The NT Music School uses Musicorp for instrument hire.
Please complete the attached slip and return to school no later than 24th March if you wish your child to commence piano, guitar or violin lessons. Lesson time slots are 30 mins. As there are only a certain number of placement times, priority will be given to students who have returned this form early.
When the school has received this form, the parent will be contacted to advise of the student’s lesson time. Payment then must be received prior to Friday 7th April. Due to administration purposes, late forms and payments cannot be accepted.
