Visible Learning- 5/6 Spruhan
In 5/6 S, our focus is on up-levelling our vocabulary as writers. To do so, we read widely and examine the works of many authors to answer the question, ‘How do authors successfully paint a picture for us to imagine their characters and the setting in which the characters live out their lives?
LEARNING INTENTION: we are learning how an author uses words to paint a picture in the reader’s mind
SUCCESS CRITERIA: we can –
- Locate and quote the descriptive words and phrases that the author has written in the text
- Interpret and respond to the text through sketches, using our creativity
This is how the COORONG from Colin Thiele’s STORM BOY has been interpreted, backed with evidence from the text.
